To the parents, teachers, and caregivers who fill children’s lives with stories, and to the young readers who bring those stories to life with their imagination-thank you.
To the special little boy whose own story brought this one to life-thank you.
To that special person whose own stories of fishing as a little boy reminded me that I had a story to complete-thank you. You inspire imagination, kindness, and adventure every day.

The Order of The Dragons

Maya awoke one day to a dark morning. There was no sun. It was still dark inside and outside. “Was it morning?” Maya whispered to herself. “It sure feels like morning and I’m not tired anymore.” She looked at the clock next to her table which read 10:00 a.m. She went downstairs to find her mom making breakfast. Maya sat at the table as her mom placed her bagel and cream cheese in front of her. “You slept late this morning,” Maya’s mom said. “Are you okay?” “Yeah,” replied Maya. “I am okay. I guess I was just extra tired for some reason.”

The Heart Behind the Stories

Bonni Lyn Kuhn

Bonni Lyn Kuhn believes the best stories start with a question. What if? What happens next? What is the secret? She has spent years asking these questions and turning the answers into delightful adventures for young readers.

Bonni lives in Connecticut with her faithful sidekick, a dog named Finnegan. Together they explore new trails, take long bike rides, and discover the little wonders hiding in plain sight. Every outing sparks a new idea. A butterfly on a leaf. A frog by a pond. A boy fishing with his dad. These moments find their way into her stories…

About the Book 1

Johnny's Magical Fishing Trip

Some secrets are too wonderful to tell. They have to be discovered.

A little boy named Johnny is about to learn this truth. His Poppy tells him something magical. The first fish a person catches is always a magic fish. Something special will happen when Johnny catches his first fish. But Poppy will not say what. Johnny’s father will not say either. The mystery stays alive. And Johnny must find the answer himself…

About the Book 2

The Order of The Dragons

Welcome to Starfire Hollow, a hidden world where magic hums just beneath the surface of everyday life. In The Order of The Dragons, you will meet Kelsey, a young girl who believes her only talent is playing the saxophone. But when her guinea pig, Snowy, suddenly starts talking back, Kelsey discovers that her music holds the power to wake an entire kingdom of dragons turned to stone by a dreadful spell. Suddenly, a boring school day transforms into a daring quest across a barren land, past the sneaky Ember Guard, and into the heart of a frozen mountain where a legendary crystal lake holds the secret to restoring peace…

About the Book 3

Maya, Meeks and the Moon

Hooray! This is the third sparkling adventure from the wonderfully imaginative Bonni Lyn Kuhn, and it might just be her most magical one yet. Say hello to Maya, a girl who loves horses more than almost anything, and her very best four-legged friend, Amigo (but she calls him Meeks because that is way more fun). One morning, Maya wakes up and… wait a minute. Where did the sun go? It is dark. It is rainy. And it will not. Stop. Raining. But when the moon herself, a sweet voice named Luna, whispers through a dream, Maya learns that the sun has run off to pout in a faraway land. That simply will not do…

From the Hearts of Our Readers

Stories that stay with you. Here is what families are sharing.

My daughter loves all three of these books. She connected with Johnny's pride in catching his first fish. Then she could not put down The Order of the Dragons. Kelsey showed her that being different is a superpower. And Maya, Meeks and the Moon made her appreciate nature in a whole new way. These stories have become our bedtime favorites.

Bonni Lyn Kuhn has a gift for creating characters that feel real. My son saw himself in Johnny, waiting for something special. He loved the adventure in The Order of the Dragons and the friendship between Maya and Meeks. Each book teaches something different, but they all share the same warmth. We have read them all multiple times.
